JCARC
was officially established as a not for profit organization on October 21, 1974. A group of concerned parents, caregivers,
and citizens recognized the need for an agency that would serve individuals with developmental disabilities. Since then
many changes and progress has been made.

JCARC
is a member of both the state and the national ARC associations sharing goals and working on the state and national level.
JCARC is commited to promoting for all persons with developmental disabilities, the opportunity to choose where, how, and
with whom they live, learn and work by providing supports that recognizes the dignity and self worth of the individual while
enhancing self-determination and community involvement.

JCARC
constantly strives toward the goal of improving the quality of life for the developmentally disabled. It is the sincerest
desire of all who work with the association that each client be given the opportunity to meet their highest potential in life.
It is to this principle that JCARC is dedicated.

Since
JCARC's beginning it has progressed to what it is today. For the past fifteen years it has been under the leadership
of Frances Henderson as Executive Director. JCARC currently has 60 dedicated employees and serves 175 individuals with developmental
disabilities. The continued growth and success of JCARC depends on the community supports and on the attitudes and efforts
of everyone involved. Maintaining a reputation for quality, integrity, and service is JCARC's primary objective.
